The achievements are a list of goals bound to your account that you can accomplish in order to strengthen your civilization in the long run.
You will never lose an achievement once obtained even if a game round is ending and you are starting afresh on a new server.
On the summary page you can follow the progress for each achievement category. Read more about categories further down this page.
All achievements are valued by achievement points and these are a way to measure your account's greatness.
Your realm ranking will be based upon the number of your achievement points. You will have to be patient when it comes to completing achievements; some will take weeks to complete others several months.
Once you have reached a certain amount of achievement points your entire civilization will be rewarded with a certain rank. These ranks will give positive boosts that will always affect your civilization even when you are starting afresh.

All achievements are categorized into various sections on the achievement page.
There are currently 10 categories in the game: general, scenario, exploration, civilization, village, alignment, player vs player, player vs environment, hero and item.
Each section is thereafter divided into three subcategories: one-timers (yellow), regular (blue) and epic (purple).
Achievements listed in this category can only be completed once on every account and gives between 10-50 Achievement points dependant on difficulty.
One-timers can also have secret tasks with hidden objectives. Players must then find out what to do on their own.
Achievements that requires you to be first on a game round such as "Tropical Rusher" can only be claimed once per each player. The achievement will be passed on to the second player that meats the conditions instead.
Regular achievements are graded in three levels based on trophies: bronze, silver and gold.
These are worth a certain amount of achievement points upon completion. The conditions for each level must be met in the same game round.
Epic achievements are a bit tougher to obtain and will require more time of playing. Just like regular achievements they are divided into bronze, silver and gold, but instead they will take several game rounds to accomplish.
When you complete an achievement you will immediately see an in-game box describing the category it belongs to but also the amount of achievement points earned. Your total achievement points will increase and a notification will be added to your notifications log.
Newly obtained achievements are updated on the achievement page every half an hour.
This means that you have to wait for a while before your newly obtained achievement points are added to your total.
On the summary page you can see a time stamp on when your achievements were last updated.
Uncompleted achievements have gray icons while the completed have colored icons.
You can always hover an icon to view the amount of achievement points required for that particular achievement.
Each achievement has a certain requirement described on the first paragraph for each item. In the picture to the left the player must reach a village size of 1000 to reach the next level.
The second paragraph will let you keep track on your current progress.
To the far right you will see how many achievement points you will get in reward. If there are trophies to obtain you can hover the icons to view the requirement for each one of them.
