Aloriah is an online strategy game based on mythologies and played directly from your web browser.
You can play Aloriah from any computer using a common browser such as Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera. Internet Explorer 9 is supported, older versions are supported if using a plugin.
Playing through mobile devices such as Android, iPhone, iPad is limited.
First, you must register your account on Aloriah.com. When this is done you will be able to choose a game server to start your civilization on.
In this world, you have control over a civilization and currently the only playable race is the Vikings.
You start with one village in one of several terrain areas and initially you want to expand the village and explore the world by commanding your armies around.
The game Aloriah is actually a never-ending game that is played in game rounds based on these game scenarios.
The game round ends when all civilizations have achieved the goals required for the scenario. The outcome could either be that civilizations (the players) win, or that the dangers involved in this scenario does.
Regardless of who wins, each player will get various kinds of achievements at the end of each game round.
On the scenario page you can also see rankings for different players based on the amount of scenario points gained.
When the game round is completed the game freezes and the dark fog that obscures most of the world disappears.
To continue playing Aloriah, the player must choose a new server (world) from the lobby and start afresh.
Note! Achievements gained are not being reset even if you start a new civililzation.
A game round’s length depends on how fast players on the server reach the final area and completes the end event. This is a process that will at least take a few months depending on the scenario. When there are no villages left to capture in the final area or if the time is mature enough, the game round might start to round off by itself.
You can, at any time, unbind your civilization from a selected server, but then you will not get the greater rewards and achievements that are given out at the end of the game round. Due to this, it is worth playing a full game round until it’s finished even if it is going bad towards the end.
To unbind your civilization from a server simply go to your account settings in the top menu and choose to unbind your civilization from the settings. You will have to type in your password in order to confirm.
Game rounds have different scenarios and end events. Currently there is only one scenario - The Ancient race, in the game. The game will be slightly different depending on how long the game round has been going on when you join it. When you join a game you will always be placed in the starting zone called Green Fields where other players match your strength.
